Quoting others posts in a thread.
I keep seeing people have problems using the quote feature when trying to insert text from a previous post.
If you want to quote someone, the easiest way is to just click the "Quote" button on the bottom right of their post... this will quote their whole post and then you can delete the parts you don't want...
The quote code is a wrapper..... meaning you need code at the beginning AND end of their text....
So you should have something like this at the beginning of their text: "quote=Boo Hollow;7251"
And at the end, you need this: "/quote"
The parenthesis I used need to be replaced by brackets [ xx ] but if I do that, you can't see it because the code is activated..
using the quote reply, automatically adds these...
If you just want to quote any copied text, just paste it into your thread, and then, after you highlight it with your mouse (like to copy it) . just click the little
image in the top post menu, and it will ad the wrappers for you..... Then you will get the cool little box outlining the text...... but it wont' have the users name like you would if you used the quote button to reply.
