Hi Tim,
Very attractive hybrid!This is clearly an Aloe capitata hybrid. The leaves are a lot greener than what typical capitata var gneissicola x arborescens are. Capitata x (arborescens x cameronii) looks much like your pic. My only other thought is that it was a green leaved capitata variety like var cipolinicola x arborescens. Regards Quinton |

Collected? In habitat? I assumed it was a garden hybrid. Pity you dont have a record of exactly how it originated . Does it set seed easily and make lots of pollen? Capitata x arborescens is generally sterile or at best very weekly fertile ( I have raised many of that combo from seed). If it was truly a habitat plant perhaps it could be capitata x helenae ? Unfortunately I have never made helenae hybrids so I am not that familiar with them Regards Q |
