Default Just like diamonds..Dyckias are forever

Dyckias are just like diamonds: They are forever.
When flowering They celebrate life in its best.
They come in every size, shape and color.
They love the Sun, the fresh open air and they can stand some coldness.
Just some, as they are no penguin inspite being Southern Creatures.
They luv the very same temperatures you do when absolutely nude so
this means something as paradisiac as possible.

..and if u are into the big and beautiful ones this one here fits on you, no doubt:

Dyckia sp ( still unnamed species) São Marcos - RS - Brazil
As you can see this one prepares for blooming.
No suicide, no arakiri, no flowering kamikazi.
Spines are almost black and numerous.
In this case here the flowers are yellow and minute but numerous.
This particulary species is used to some snow and mild to medium severe frosts.
It comes from a mountainous area Southern in Brazil.

Dyckias are a kind of last frontier of the veg world and new species mostly never seen before
are getting into view frequently.
They are all Xeric, succulent, sun lovers non monocarpic terrestrial bromeliads.
They thrive in Tropical and subtropical areas as well in all Equatorial zones of the globe.
They just do not know how to cope with a mild weak Sun nor a coldness that makes a white
bear happy.
The main complain is about luminosity as the light they enjoy the most is the one the causes us
skin cancer.
You should not deal with them when exposed to this kind of Sun even if u think to be well protect or enough protected.
I think this is a crucial point to be taken into consideration before and after falling in love
with them ´cause one may not get foolish here: they are truely alluring plants.
