Default Zamia ID

This is a Zamia native to Panama, I've tried to get an ID on other forums and gotten nothing. Just thought I'd give it a shot here. Anyone ?

Default Possibly Zamia obliqua

I would almost guess this to be Zamia obliqua. What color are the seed pods and describe the stems.

This is a young female Zamia obliqua- beautiful plant.

The curious characteristic to me is the reddish leaf bases, that is something I haven't seen before. I'm no Zamia expert but the ones I know of are oddly mum on this plant.

Jeremy, perhaps you missed my response to your post on the "cycad" Yahoo group a few days ago. This is unquestionably Zamia manicata. According to a botanist friend at the University of Panama, it occurs in both Panama and Colombia.

Thanks Jody- I thought you may know. I never got your yahoo reply for some reason- nor when I emailed you personally from my gmail account. I wonder why.
