Default Boophone haemanthoides in bloom at UCBG

I heard that the large Boophone haemanthoides was coming into bloom,
so today I made a quick visit to the University of California Berkeley
Botanical Garden just to see it. Turns out this one is cream-coloured
(instead of pink) and smells lovely!

Anyone who can, should come see this. It will be an ongoing show as
the inflorescence expands into a magnificent infructescence!

I just checked my old bulbs and it looks like they are all pushing leaves, so no bloom for me this year

Mine produced pink flowers and immediately transformed into rather dull disticha.

They will be removed.

Not sure I am understanding you on this Tim.... are you saying your heamanthoides turned out to be winter growing disticha? That's not so bad is it?

Yes, exaclty Allen. I have a ton of disticha, but now no large haemanthoides. They cost more too. Grrrr.
