Default Beaucarnea Recurvata

Enyone know the minimun temperature that supports Beaucarnea Recurvata?
I've 3 plants died this winter with -5ºC.

The coldest mine has seen was 28F or -2C in 1998. Only a few top leaves were browned. A prolonged cold that reached as low as 22-23 F or about -5C in 1990 for five mornings I was told, killed a B. guatamalensis in Berkeley Ca. I dont know of what size or age it was. That was before my days of fanatical semi tropical plant keeping here in the SF bay area. I know the owner still felt for that plant as it had he said, excellent color.We all know the feeling....

I have three that survived 17F and many days at or below freezing with light frost during a week long freeze event in 2007. The plants were defoliated and one recovered by pushing a different growing point (the original sluffed off).
