Mine (in the OP) is about 5 feet across now. No pictures at the moment; I can't remember what trick is required for this forum to accept them now.

Too bad that you can not remember.
Unfortunately I have no idea how this works.

Best regards

These ones I got from Greg have growing so much this year that I had to replant all echinocereus that were growing around them. MM (Sorry for the photo quality, I had to knock the megapixels way down to post them)MM

Wow.....
How long do they take to get that big? Mines grown like a rocket so far and it's confined to a pot. It pails in comparison to other people's examples but it still has to be my favourite plant, I'll see if I can get a photo of it to upload to show it as of now.

I got these from Greg in 2012, but they were pretty good size when I got them. MM

Loving these pics. Mine are still in 1 gallon pots, but I've got six of them. Still looking for A. o. ‘Frosty Blue’; have 'Vanzie' & the regular Sierra Lampazos form. Oh, and two 'Huasteca Giants,' which see to be ovatifolia hybrids.

Default Agave ovatifolia near the Huasteca Canyon in Mexico

Hi all,
I had the chance see Agave ovatifolia two time in Mexico. 2014 at the backside of the Huasteca Canyon and this spring in Mesa del Oso, that is located near the Huasteca Canyon as well. The habitat is about 3.000 meter high. The plants get giant there and grow together with an Agave that looked like a form of Agave americana. Agave montana is to be found there as well.
Here are some pics.
There might be more places, f.e. in the Huasteca Canyon, where this agave grows, not only in the Sierra de Lampazos.
The Agaves don't have a unique appearance. They are a bit different from place to place., may be as result of some intergression with other agaves.
All the plants in our collections look very similar, may be origin of one Agave?
Unfortunateli the pics were posted mixed - the first pics are from the backside of Huasteca Canyon and the last two (10 + 11) as well. Pics from Mesa del Oso are number 7 - 9.

Default Mistake

I have mentioned Agave montana but correct is Agave gentry and may be hybrids of Agave gentryi.

Here's a photo of my potted embarrement with some nice lighting. Taken in May 2016, so it's grown a lot since then.
