Default Need ID for a palm/sedge growing in a moist, shady drainage in Solana Beach

I am looking to the identify this plant. As stated in the title, it is growing in a moist, shady drainage in coastal San Diego County. I think it's a palm, although the flowers look sedge-like. Thanks.

Does anyone else find the photo uploading system on this site illogical and difficult to use? I had to use an outside photo viewing site because the file attachment method or the 'insert image' button did not work. Maybe it's just me.

I concur.

Cyperus alternifolius, or a very close relative. Closely related to Cyperus papyrus, The "Paper Plant" of the ancient Egyptians.
