Mesa Garden in Belen New Mexico and Miles' To Go In Cortaro AZ. are the two best places I have ordered from. Both places have top notch plants. I could say good luck ordering from them but all you need is a place to put the plants. Their plants will hit the ground running.

Thanks Bob,

They both have a lot of selection. Although i was surprised to find that euphorbia canariensis was not available on either site. Any ideas where i can i get it?

I have zero experience with this site--I was planning an order, but didn't do it yet. But they do have the plant you want.

Maybe someone else here has bought from them.

I just had a not-so-good order from Cactus King. The Euphorbia stenoclada was unrooted & half dried out. They bury the info that any size plant might also be an unrooted cutting: "Plants are shipped bare root, can be a cutting, division or pull equal to the size of the plant ordered" (E. stenoclada is pretty hard to root). Also they don't label things unless you ask them to & hide this info in a little sidebar. I send a pic of the 4 very similar aloes I got and they wouldn't ID them, nor replace the dried out ... not a courteous place.

Thank you so much for the feedback. I looked at some of the other sites I order from and they didn't have that Euphorbia.

I was going to order some Notocactus, but now I'm going to have to rethink that. It's too bad--they seem to have a good selection

Is all their stuff that expensive?

Prices are good but the plants I got were unrooted (not just bare-root, as they were advertised) & I didn't think I got good value for the money...

I've ordered from Starr Nurseries, Mesa Gardens, and Arid Lands Greenhouses & got great plants & great service at very reasonable prices.

First, there's no substitute for visiting the nursery in person. It's educational both in terms of seeing the plants and choosing one out of a hundred. Tucson is the mecca for cactus growers for sure. All my cactus geek buddies and myself make trips from San Diego just to visit them.
Second are the club show and sales. Some of the pros are there and some outrageous backyard growers with wholesale prices. Be early. You will want to be a regular member in your closest club. Lots of benefits.

It is not only expensive. By my experience plants are incorrectly named and mailed -if at all- in pretty bad condition. Communication is difficult… to say the least.

Wow, those are some bad reviews. My experience with Cactus King was really terrible, including their yelling at me when I asked for labels with names for my plants. Apparently if I had read "the terms" I would have known that I had to ask for labels when I ordered.

Every other nursery I've ordered from has sent labels with every order. Unbelievable!
